Your mission
GIDARA Energy aims to become a global leader in converting non-recyclable waste into valuable chemical building blocks and advanced biofuels. Leveraging our patented High Temperature Winkler® (HTW®) technology, which stands as the foremost waste gasification technology with decades of commercial-scale experience, we are set to revolutionize waste processing and chemical circularity. Our offerings include licensing, syngas islands, and the development of our own projects from initial concept to full operation.

As a Gasification SME at our rapidly growing company, you will have been instrumental in client engagement, due diligence, project development, tailoring technical solutions, and supporting license sales. This role's most compelling aspect is its focus on penetrating the burgeoning United States waste recycling and clean fuel and chemical production sector. It provides the chance to pioneer in a new market, align with sustainability objectives, influence policy, tackle complex challenges, and drive strategic growth for GIDARA Energy. You will play a crucial role in demonstrating how to reduce waste and CO2 emissions, contributing significantly to the energy transition and a sustainable future.
What will you be doing?
As our Gasification SME based in the USA, , you will work closely together with our Projects & Technology team headquartered in The Netherlands, and day-to-day with our US-based SVP responsible to grow GIDARA in North America. In your new role, It is expected that you… 
 
  • Be a leading expert in the field of waste gasification with a track record of developing technology and projects.
  • Have a good knowledge of chemical process technologies (thermochemical processes, synthesis gas treatment, synthesis gas processing units) and how to integrate waste gasification to the value chain.
  • Support the Business Development team to engage with prospective clients and convince them of the maturity and superior attributes of HTW® gasification technology.
  • Coordinate with the Projects and Technology team to produce Front End Loading and License packages.   Review engineering documents related to process discipline (PFDs, P&IDs, H&MB, equipment process datasheets, instruments process datasheets, etc.).
  • Participate in the reviews of licensed packages, Basic Engineering, FEED, and detail engineering deliverables.
  • Advise the R&D group on areas of development and improvement.
  • Participate in HAZID/HAZOP/SIL meetings and Value Engineering sessions.
  • Review technical offers from packages/equipment bidders and vendors.
  • Participate and present at conferences, webinars, etc.
  • Support investor engagement and due diligence exercises.
  • Monitor market and technology developments in the field of waste to molecules.
Who are you?
We are seeking a candidate who communicates complex and novel concepts clearly, is solution-driven, and works collaboratively with our small but highly-qualified team.  Flexibility and excellent organizational and work coordination skills are important. The ideal candidate is open to working in a highly dynamic project team and can work across several projects simultaneously. Other favorable experiences are:
Hard/technical skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering. A Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Work/residency permit for the United States.
  • Significant and proven engineering experience (8-15 years) in waste gasification , especially in the developer or technology provider space.. Having experience in synthesis gas treatment for production of sustainable aviation fuel, renewable natural gas, and methanol production is a plus.
  • Knowledge of processing of solids material handling an advantage.
  • Practical experience in developing conceptual and feasibility phase packages.
  • Experience handling licensed process units and integrating different process and utility units.
  • Having good knowledge about the process design criteria, process philosophies, and applicable international codes and standards.
  • Have a good understanding of process systems and process package functions.
  • Having experience and understanding of process simulation software (Aspen Plus, etc.) and tools.
  • Have a good experience with equipment selection and sizing.
  • Have a good understanding of the control and safety systems of the process requirements.
Soft skills and personality traits
  • Able to translate technical complex topics into understandable manageable actions for other team members.
  • Willing to travel.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a wider team.
