GIDARA Energy, a leading waste gasification technology company, is seeking a Project Engineer to join our international team.
Your mission
GIDARA Energy has the ambition to become a global processing company converting non-recyclable waste into valuable chemical building blocks and advanced biofuels. We will do so by employing our patented High Temperature Winkler® (HTW®) technology, the leading waste gasification technology, with decades of experience at a commercial scale. GIDARA Energy offers a range of products from licensing, and syngas islands to developing its own projects from initial concept based on its proprietary technology into full operation. 

To support our growth plans, we are seeking a Project Engineer to join our dynamic international team of passionate professionals. Our new colleague will develop and deliver licensed technology packages for projects that convert non-recyclable waste into valuable chemical products and biofuels. This role is essential for advancing GIDARA Energy's sustainable energy solutions using our patented HTW® technology. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge initiatives that are shaping the future of sustainable energy solutions.
What will you be doing?
As our Senior Project Engineer, you will work closely together with the EVP Technology, Project Manager and Engineering/Technology teams. In your new role, you will …
  • Support the Project Manager in developing the Project Execution Plan and preparing deliverable documents list and content.
  • Support Project Manager and procurement department for purchasing proprietary equipment in close collaboration with the Technology and engineering team for technical inputs. 
  • Coordinate with Technology and Engineering teams to fulfill project requirements efficiently and on time
  • Use your expertise to support ongoing activities within the Licensor group, making plans, coordinating internal regular meetings, high-level scheduling, and coordination of proposals and deliverables post-contract.
  • Manage interfaces between stakeholders, including Engineering, Contractors, Vendors, Operations, HSE, and Quality.
  • Encourage strong collaborations with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders, while expertly managing relationships, contractual matters, and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Utilize your background in energy transition and decarbonization to influence and drive innovative project approaches.
  • Skillfully persuade counterparts and stakeholders through your negotiation and communication skills.
  • Serve as a driving force behind project progress, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standard and within established timelines.
  • Provide input to the project controls team for cost and schedule reporting.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of scope changes, coordinating the review of change order documents.
Who are you?
We are seeking a candidate who possesses skills in effectively communicating ideas, thereby influencing project outcomes positively. The ideal candidate should understand the technical content of Engineering documents, and coordinate reviews for compliance with project objectives and business needs. Other favorable experiences are:
Hard/technical skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in project engineering roles within energy transition, decarbonization, gas processing, or petrochemical industries.
  • Adept in supporting planning, scheduling, and coordinating proposals and deliverables.
  • Proficiency in interface management, maintaining effective communication across project elements and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build and nurture relationships with internal teams, clients, and external collaborators.
  • Prior experience working with License companies is a significant advantage.
  • Native standards of Dutch and working standard English language are required.
Soft skills and personality traits
  • Able to engage, influence, and direct people.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to switch from a helicopter view to a detailed perspective.
